It’s that time when we reflect on the past year and everything we’ve accomplished.
I always enjoy this time of reflection and in our company, we reflect on our goals and accomplishments every Friday. I believe it has been an integral part of what moves our company forward.
This past year has been another year of super hard work and a lot of achievements, not only for us as a company, but for our clients — and we have remarkable and inspiring clients.
Our clients are successful, hard-working, federal public servants who keep this nation running.
Recently, someone commented negatively about federal employees and I just couldn’t sit idly by and read the negative comments so I replied with this:
“Our clients are successful, hard-working, federal public servants who keep our great nation running.
We help our military continue their great service to this country by helping them transition to federal and private-sector positions…faster. Also, we help clients who prevent national, state, and local cybersecurity threats.
We help clients who keep our air space safe! And we help clients who prevent terrorist attacks.
We help intelligence officers, nurses, doctors, CNAs, pharmacists, scientists, and geologists.
We help astronauts; and we help the firefighters who risk their lives to fight all the fires! Additionally, we help the national park employees maintain the parks for your enjoyment.
We help the single parents who get up and show up every day to make an impact.
We help senior executives who coordinate thousands of people…such as our FEMA clients who are on the ground right now helping with natural disasters such as the ones in Kentucky and Colorado, rather than with their families during the holidays!
Our clients are AMAZINGLY gifted and talented people and show up every day to serve you.
They do what they do best and we do what we do best. We help them land jobs and promotions in Federal Government. WE are united and make the best team!”
Our clients continue to land federal interviews and federal jobs!
Recently, my team and I met to reflect on our big accomplishments for the year — and there were many. It truly was inspiring to think back over the year. It can be so easy to focus on what didn’t get done or accomplished, but it’s important to stay positive and keep taking steps in the right direction to help us accomplish our goals.
One of my favorite highlights of this year was building meaningful relationships with our community through our Facebook groups and calls. Our clients continue to land multiple interviews and marvelous jobs and it has been an honor to be part of their career journey and legacy. We have truly grown together.
We’ve also had our struggles, made mistakes, and felt the heartache from tragic deaths in the family. Luckily, we try to learn from it all and remain positive to keep swimming!
Create the space to reflect.
We can get so busy this time of year and forget to create the space to reflect, but even if you only take 30 minutes to do it, you’ll be glad you did.
One of our coaches has us do this exercise every month — it’s called the “Keep, Start, Stop” exercise. We make a list of what we are going to keep doing, start doing, and stop doing.
It’s brilliant! You can also do this exercise for every aspect of your life — your career, finances, family life, friends, fitness, and even for your faith or spirituality.
So I created a similar document for you.
I mean, why continue with what isn’t working?
For example, are you using a generic resume to apply to every job announcement you see?
Instead, I recommend that you do something like this:
We LOVE coaching and we believe that coaching is a great accelerator in life.
If you want to get somewhere faster, hiring the right coach will get you there faster, with less frustration, more money in your wallet, and much more time for you.
