Lean On Me: A Little Tribute to Family & Friends

by | Uncategorized

In a world that often feels fragmented and rushed, there’s nothing quite like the warmth and connection of a family reunion. It’s a time when we come together, not just to celebrate the milestones and joys, but to lean on each other during the trials and tribulations that life inevitably brings.

The lyrics of Bill Withers’ timeless song, “Lean On Me,” beautifully encapsulate the spirit of family gatherings. These moments remind us that no matter the pain or sorrow we face, the support and love of our family can help us overcome anything.

As I look back at the cherished moments from our recent family reunion, I see this sentiment reflected in every smile, every hug, and every shared story.

“Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow…”

Family reunions are a poignant reminder that everyone carries their own burdens. Yet, within the embrace of our loved ones, those burdens feel a little lighter. The shared memories and collective experiences serve as a testament to the strength we gain from each other.

“But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow
Lean on me
When you’re not strong…”

In the presence of family, there’s an unspoken promise that we will be there for each other. Through the ups and downs, we offer a shoulder to lean on and a hand to hold. This reunion was filled with such moments.

Each photo tells a story of love, resilience, and the unwavering support we offer each other.

Our family has seen its fair share of life’s challenges, but we have been a family of resilient survivors.

And, I am so proud of my family.

“And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on…
For it won’t be long
Till I’m gonna need somebody to lean on…”

We are ALL stronger together.

The laughter, the tears, the joy of simply being in each other’s presence—these are the moments that fortify our bonds. We help each other carry on, knowing that when our turn comes to lean, our family will be there.

“Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill
Those of your needs that you won’t let show…”

Opening up to family and friends can be challenging, but it’s in these vulnerable moments that we find true connection.

“You just call on me brother when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on…”

As you reflect on your family time, let’s carry forward the spirit of unity and support together.

Let’s remember that it’s okay to ask for help, to lean on each other, and most importantly, to offer a helping hand in return.

“If there is a load you have to bear
That you can’t carry
I’m right up the road
I’ll share your load
If you just call me…”

Family is more than just blood.

It’s about the people who stand by us through thick and thin.

I work hard to be that person for my family, friends, colleagues, and clients. I like to think of my clients as friends. 😉

This reunion has reminded me of how lucky I am and the profound strength we draw from each other, and the importance of being there, right up the road, ready to share the load.

It was so fun to get together and just be together. My nieces are grown adults and it was fun to get caught up. And, I had SO MUCH FUN cooking with my little nephews making some of my Mom’s recipes. #TryingToCarryOnTheLegacy

As we look ahead, let’s hold onto the memories and the lessons that life brings.

Let’s look for the silver linings.

Let’s continue to lean on each other, knowing that together, we can overcome anything.

Thank you to my family, friends, clients, and colleagues – for being my rock, my support, my home, and my purpose.

May the spirit of “Lean On Me” continue to resonate in our hearts and in our lives, today, and always.

Check out the short video…and enjoy the tune. 😉
